These have been fitting words for JoongAng Media Network during the last four decades. 'Change' has been the motto for the institution.
Sometimes change means risk. Change can be challenging. Change in haste ends up bringing about confusion. But JoongAng Media Network thinks that change is inevitable despite the risk. Especially during the past ten years, the JoongAng Ilbo took the initiative to make a vigorous evolution into diversified media such as magazines, publications, broadcasting and online news services.
Since the mid 90's, innovations have marked the JoongAng Media Network as a symbol of change for Korean journalism. In this market, the success of the JoongAng Media Network could be achieved only with a clear vision and a clear plan of action.

JoongAng Media Network has to lead the people on a longer, faster and deeper voyage than ever before into a new environment and globalized world. JoongAng Ilbo, the main body of the network, has continued to introduce innovative changes: a sectional newspaper, horizontal copy layout, a specialist reporter system, investigative reporting teams and internet media. All of those changes were the first ever in the local market. Now they have become industry standards. One of the latest initiatives was to publish an English newspaper, the JoongAng Daily, bundled with an international newspaper with a long history, the International Herald Tribune. They have become a clear window for Korea readers to reach into the world.
