북한 김정일, 6자 회담 조건부 복귀 언급

North Korea is ready to return to the six-party denuclearization talks depending on the outcome of its talks with the United States, the state media for both North Korea and China reported yesterday. *depending on ~ : ~에 따라 북한과 중국의 관영 통신이 어제 미국과의 회담 결과에 따라 북한은 6자 회담에 복귀할 준비가 돼 있다고 보도했다. According to China’s Xinhua News Agency, North Korean leader Kim Jong-il told China’s premier Wen Jiabao in Pyongyang late Monday that North Korea was “willing to attend multilateral talks, including the six-party talks,” depending on the progress in the anticipated discussions with the United States. ?anticipate : 예상하다, 기대하다 중국 신화통신에 따르면, 월요일 오후 김정일 북한 지도자는 평양을 방문중인 원자바오 중국 총리에게 앞으로 있을 미국과의 회담 진전에 따라 “6자 회담을 포함한 다자회담에 참석하겠다”고 말했다. North Korea’s Korean Central News Agency also reported that Kim “expressed our readiness to hold multilateral talks” and these talks include the six-party dialogue. 북한의 조선중앙통신도 김 위원장이 “다자회담을 개최할 준비 태세를 표명했다”고 보도했으며, 6자 회담도 다자회담에 포함된다고 보도했다. Kim also pointed to Pyongyang’s efforts to achieve denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, saying it was at “the behest of President Kim Il Sung,” referring to his late father and former leader of North Korea. ?behest : 명령, 지령 김 위원장은 또 북한은 한반도 비핵화를 위해 노력한다고 역설했다. 김 위원장은 한반도 비핵화가 자신의 작고한 아버지이자 전 북한 지도자였던 “김일성 주석의 유훈”이라고 말했다. Wen completed his three-day visit to Pyongyang yesterday. He traveled there to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and North Korea. While the official agenda of his meeting with Kim included economy, trade, education and tourism, analysts had expected the nuclear issue to be raised during Wen’s rare state visit. *commemorate : 기념하다, 축하하다 *state visit : (국가 원수급의) 공식 방문 원 총리는 어제 3일간의 평양 방문 일정을 마쳤다. 원 총리는 북한과 중국의 수교 60주년을 기념하기 위해 평양을 방문했다. 원 총리와 김 위원장은 공식적으로 경제, 무역, 교육, 관광 등을 논의하는 것이었지만, 대북 전문가들은 원 총리의 국빈방문 중에 북핵 문제도 논의될 것으로 예상했다. Kim’s latest comments represent the clearest indication to date of the North’s intentions to return to the six-party talks.
