Before a sellout crowd at Busan¡¯s Sajik Stadium, the Lotte Giants remained in first place in the Korea Baseball Organization by edging the last-place Kia Tigers 4-3.
In a matchup between two U.S.-experienced pitchers, former minor leaguer Song Seung-jun picked up his league-leading third win of the season. The Tigers¡¯ ex-major leaguer, Seo Jae-weong, couldn¡¯t hold on to an early three-run cushion and is now 0-2 for the season.
Elsewhere in the KBO, the SK Wyverns defeated the Woori Heroes 3-2 to stay one game back of the Giants in second place. The Samsung Lions beat the Hanwha Eagles 4-2 and remain tied with SK in second. The LG Twins handed their Seoul rival the Doosan Bears their second straight loss with a 5-2 victory.
At Busan, the Giants swept their three-game set against the Tigers before 30,000 fans to improve to 10-3. It was Lotte¡¯s third sellout this season.
Trailing 3-0 in the third, the Giants scored four runs against the right-handed Seo, who entered the game with a KBO-leading 1.29 earned run average. With runners on first and second base, Kang Min-ho and Jeong Bo-myung drove in two runs with consecutive singles. After Lee Won-seok¡¯s grounder scored Kang, Jeong Soo-geun drove in the go-ahead run with a base hit to right.
The Tigers scored three runs in the first inning on three hits, a walk and a wild pitch. They also had a one-out, bases loaded scoring opportunity in the ninth, but Lee Hyun-gon hit into a game-ending double play. Kia, at 3-10, has lost six straight.

SK 3, Woori 2
At Mokdong, western Seoul, SK pinch hitter Kim Jae-hyun hit a two-run double in the top of the ninth to give SK its eighth win in nine games.
The Wyverns scored all three runs in the ninth. Kim Kang-min¡¯s ground ball made it 2-1. With two out and runners on first and second, Kim Jae-hyun drilled a double on a 3-2 offering from Park Jun-soo.
¡°I was looking for a slider and when I got one, I put a good swing on it,¡± Kim told Yonhap.
Heroes¡¯ starter Ma Il-young was one out from getting his first win of the season but instead got his second loss of 2008.

Samsung 4, Hanwha 2
At Daejeon, Yang Joon-hyuk went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in after being held out of the lineup on Saturday, and Yoon Sung-hwan struck out eight in 5 1/3 innings for his first career win as a starter.
The 38-year-old Yang, the all-time KBO hits leader with 2,107, had just two hits in his previous 13 at-bats.
¡°I haven¡¯t hit well, but it¡¯s still early in the season,¡± Yang told Yonhap. ¡°I know what I need to fix.¡±
The Eagles¡¯ starter Song Jin-woo, the oldest player in the league at 42, struggled in his 4 2/3 innings, giving up three runs on four hits and five walks.

LG 5, Doosan 2
At Jamsil, southern Seoul, the Twins¡¯ Australian starter Chris Oxspring pitched a solid 6 1/3 innings and his teammates chased the Bears¡¯ ex-major leaguer Kim Sun-woo in the third inning.
Leading 1-0 in the third, LG tagged on three runs on four hits and a walk. The right-handed Kim gave up six hits and three walks in 2 1/3 innings and is 0-3 this season.
