| A wild boar spotted near the Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul yesterday drowned in the Han River while trying to elude would-be captors. Police said that after they received a report about the boar at 12:13 p.m. they attempted to catch it, but it jumped into the Han River between the Olympic and Cheonho bridges. The boar tried to swim south, but drowned at 1: 23 p.m. This is the second time Seoul police and fire departments have had to chase down a wild boar in recent weeks. The first boar was seen on Sept. 29 and was killed after injuring passers-by. ¡°We believe that this wild boar, like the one killed last time, came from Mount Acha or the hills in Guri, Gyeonggi province,¡± an emergency worker said. ¡°Fortunately, no one got hurt this time.¡± |
